Guidelines

General Content Guidelines

We will accept:

  • We will accept just about anything, so long as it's Lysiclaude. Canonverse, AU, doesn't matter— if it's shippy content of Lysithea and Claude, it qualifies!

  • You are free to submit content that explore dark or sensitive themes. If you'd like to put content warnings for your piece, there will be a section in the submission form to specify, or you can check "choose not to warn."

  • You are free to send as many pieces as you'd like.

  • You can submit both fic and art. If a piece of art is meant to go with a fic, please submit them in the same form.

We will not accept:

  • We will not accept content that features pairings of Lysithea and/or Claude with other named characters. (Generic unnamed characters for the sake of narrative are okay.)

  • We will not accept pieces that have been previously uploaded or published. Please wait until the zine is released to upload, update, or sell the submitted pieces. (Exception: pieces made for Lysiclaude February Flash)

  • If you are under 18, you cannot send in pieces for the NSFW zine.

Misc:

  • Primary communication will be done through email. Please make sure the email you list will be the one you will use to communicate.

  • If you'd like to stay anonymous in the final zine, please write "Anonymous" in the pen name. You will still need to list an email address for communication purposes, however.

  • You can list your social media accounts if you'd like, but it's not required. The mods will not check your online presence to monitor what you are doing outside of the zine.

  • If you have questions or would like a more immediate response, you can DM the Twitter account (@lysiclaudezine).

Formatting Guide (format preview)

Art (illustrations, comics)

  • Can be anything from a simple sketch to a comic; draw what you want!

  • Size must be A5 with 3mm bleed (154mm × 216mm), 600 DPI, grayscale, format must be PNG or JPEG. Please keep in mind that every piece will start on the right page. Make sure nothing important is within the 3mm bleed area.

  • If you are shading, we strongly suggest using grayscale instead of screentones, to avoid moire.

  • If you are sending in multiple pieces of illustrations, please consider tieing them under the same title and submitting them in the same form (like one might with an art log).

  • We will email to inform you of any issues that may arise with size, resolution, or page layouts.

Fic

  • No minimum or maximum wordcount; from drabbles to longfics, anything goes!

  • Must be in a format where the text can be copied and pasted; Google doc, Word doc, OpenOffice doc, etc.

  • We will email to check that you are okay with any editing and changes we may apply or request. (On spelling, capitalization, punctuation, paragraph and line spacing, word flow, etc. We will try to keep the edits minimal and non-intrusive.)

Have a fic idea you want to contribute, but not the time to write it?

Substitute Writing

  • No problem! You can submit an outline of your idea, and the substitute writer (slotumn) will write it for you.

  • Think of it as a free fic commission where you can't choose the wordcount.

  • The fic ideas are limited to one SFW idea and one NSFW idea per person.

  • You can send in a fic idea even if you are contributing fic and/or art.

  • You will be credited for the idea in the format of "idea by x, written by slotumn", so you will have to give a pen name as well.

  • You can also choose to remain anonymous, in which case you will be credited as "idea by anonymous, written by slotumn"

  • Please note that this is not a ghostwriting service; the substitute will write with their usual writing style.

  • We will email to check that you are satisfied with how the fic based on your outline is written, and if not, how you'd like it to be tweaked.
